Russia is building its first long-range surface vessels in many years, the very exciting Admiral Gorshkov Class Frigate. The first will be delivered by 2012, according to plan, which would be a bit of a surprise judging by the Russian Navy's record.

One very interesting fact is that these FFG's will be equipped with six BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles. The little actual knowledge we have about damage from cruise missiles indicates that the kinetic energy is more important than the actual explosive payload.
